MINISTRY OF NATIONAL EDUCATION RECEIVES AWARD FOR SERVICE TO THE TURKISH LANGUAGE

The opening ceremony of the 10th International Turkish Language Congress organized by the Turkish Language Association was held on Thursday, September 26, 2024, the 92nd anniversary of Language Day, at the conference hall of the Atatürk Supreme Council for Culture, Language, and History campus. 
 
At the opening ceremony, the Ministry of National Education was awarded the '2024 Turkish Language Service Award' by the Turkish Language Association as part of the Language Day celebrated every year on September 26.
 
Receiving the award on behalf of the Ministry of National Education, Cihad Demirli, the President of the Board of Education, thanked the Turkish Language Association community and the members of the Scientific Committee.
 
Demirli emphasized the importance of the activities carried out by the Ministry on the Century of Türkiye Education Model and the teaching of Turkish with all its accompanying skills and said: "In recent years, our Ministry has started to carry out serious studies on the teaching of Turkish in the world and in Türkiye. The fruits of these efforts will hopefully soon be visible in a process that we will all witness together. The Turkish language teaching activities are conducted in the form of teaching Turkish as a mother tongue, teaching it as a foreign language, and teaching it to bilinguals and those of Turkish descent.
 
The ceremony was attended by Serdar Çam, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism; Derya Örs, President of the Atatürk Supreme Council for Culture, Language, and History; Osman Mert, President of the Turkish Language Association; Cihad Demirli, President of the Board of Education; along with numerous academics, students, and international guests.
